Once more chapter 110/26/2022 ![]() ![]() Though are long lives are all we received, we were still mortal and could die just as easily as most others, but usually that wasn’t a problem since as priests we weren’t normally attacked and the ground was no kind’s territory so it was commonly a place of peace, it was illegal to attack a priest or their temple, thankfully. That was a few hundred years ago, as dragon priests we are given elongated lives to match that of dragons in return for being the bridge between dragon-kind and human. My mentor had seen the peak of all of these things when he was growing up and being trained to be a dragon priest. From what I was told, there were times when the temples used to be flooded with people of all kinds, but as relations between humans and others started to grow strained, they became more infrequent. Really I needed to send a letter to a few of the other dragon priests, I wanted to see how they were doing, I was curious and it got lonely here. Apparently it was a gift from a dragon, but after talking to his brother, he was just born that way. My mentor always did it so easily with a huge grin on his face, and it never took him long at all even when he was doing it alone, but he was abnormally strong. It was hard to keep that belief though when I had to clean such a huge place. Most dragons had human forms, but this was a place for them just as much as it was for humans or other humanoid beings, so they shouldn’t have to change for in order to fit inside. The temple was huge, but it had to be, it was a dragon temple, so it had to have enough space for dragons to enter, couldn’t host many, but a few could fit inside. I had to clean the huge temple by myself, it wasn’t fun, but as long as I didn’t skip a day it wasn’t too hard, I tried to work to make my tomorrow easier, so I at least hoped that’s why I didn’t throw myself out of one of the stained glass windows. It was time to get work done though, I didn’t have time to linger on such things, though my living quarters were humble, the stable was huge, it was meant to hold traveler’s horses or animals while they were at the temple. Hopefully he would get over it, but really I think he was waiting for our mentor to come back home. Really though Tene had always been spoiled, but he had just gotten worse since my mentor wasn’t around anymore, he was originally his horse, and with the third stall empty since my brother had to leave a while ago, he really was in a bad mood. ![]() He was like the stubborn horse’s caretaker. “At least you’re not like him.” I pet Lux’s nose as I let him out, he just nuzzled me before he followed Tene. Letting Tene out first he pushed his way into the field, spoiled rotten. Lux was waiting too, but he was always more patient than the other one. “Done being a spoiled brat now?” As soon as I entered the stable Tene was huffing and hitting his hoof against the ground, he wanted to go out into the open area and do as he wished. I mumbled good morning to an empty house as I got ready in my usual robes. When morning came around I had managed to rest a bit more before I had to get up. We were away from any town or city so I at least wouldn’t have anyone complaining about Tene waking them up. With a sigh I left the small stable and went back to the small hut I lived in. Tene huffed, didn’t even drink any water and seemed like he was going to go back to sleep. I’m sorry.” He would just throw another fit if I didn’t apologize to him, at least he was the only one of the two that was like this, Lux was a lot better behaved. “I promise I won’t forget to refill it tomorrow night. It took three buckets to fill his water, but he would remain calm for most of the day and the rest of the night. He seemed to go back to sleep quickly though. He had woken up the other horse in the barn as well. He had calmed down as soon as I had showed up knowing that he was getting what he wanted. I’ll get water for you…” With a yawn I walked to get a pail and went out to the well I normally got their water from, once I had the bucket filled I walked back. He would always throw a fit if his water was ever empty or he wasn’t being fed on time, he was a spoiled brat. One of the two horses was causing a ruckus again, I went in there and he was stomping around upset, checking his water it was empty. It was still late at night, I got up and put on my robe. Deltarune x reader one shots.I hummed as I sat up in bed, I woke up for some reason, I didn’t feel like I had just woken up from a nightmare, but looking around, I soon heard something stomp around in a panic. ![]()
